Anyway, everyone knows these kinds of polls are not scientific.

I don't have a credit card. Sooooo. Yes. I'm dying for PayPal support for Guild Wars. However, I have noticed dwindling support for PayPal all across the internet, which is regrettable, because I don't have a blasted credit card.

I have a CC and would still like to use paypal, because I've already had someone at Blizzard steal my card once. They deny it was an emploee of corse, but what are the chances that my card would get hijacked and only used at one of 2 places I ever used it lol. I feel safer with paypal because they are the only ones who ever see my card number.

And for those who say cut the middleman out, thats no solution when the whole point is to create more ways to pay in the online store. Anyone who can open a checking account can get a paypal account. So If A-Net is considering expanding the pay options I see it as the way to go.

No, please explain: I have a PayPal account from before e-bay bought them. I used it in those days because many private sellers had no desire (or means) to accept credit cards. I, in turn, did not wish to send off a check with no assurance of ever receiving the goods ordered.

Now, for a site like ArenaNet, I would use my credit card. Most areas have the Visa/MC gift cards available for purchase if you don't have a credit card.

I use PayPal because I can use my bankaccount with it without having to go for a creditcard and pay those fees.

@ those who mentioned PayPal costing Anet: You think CC acceptance is free for Anet? I'm not exactly sure what the rates are, but both cost money to the one accepting it. I was investigating this for possibilities for a webshop and know both cost money.

Besides that, PayPal offers a solution to all the Europeans who don't own a CC, because in Europe it isn't that common to own one. So offering other solutions like PayPal, Click & Buy or iDEAL would open up the GW store to a lot bigger audience.

I have a CC, but I never really liked Paypal. Kept bugging me to attach my account to my bank account to be more "certified". I would rather have someone try to use my CC (since I have it locked at a $500 credit limit anyway-whatever they buy wont be much) than clean out my checking and savings.
I would more or less vote for ANET to allow prepaid CC's to be used at the store OR sell in retail stores an ANET "cash card" (if you will let me use that example) that you can use to spend the pre-determined amount at the online store.

I do have a credit card and I haven't set up my pay pal account fully yet.I would suggest maybe another line of paying although this in voles more paper work and that is to have it billed to you.It will be sent in the mail and you will have certain amount of time to pay it be chuque(check) or through your bank or money order. This might be an alternative and whatever happened to the methods like this. This how your credit card co. does it as well as utility companies not through money orders though.

You can still do this when you see those Ads on TV.

I voted no. I don't see any reason to get them involved at all. The current system is fine. I would rather buy direct then go through a 3rd party transaction type of deal. I only use pay pal if it's the only option or seems more secure, but that's for different things that are not related.

There is a large number of people that don't have Visa( or mastercard) Check cards from their bank and don't have a credit card. Paypal accepts checking accounts as an option for 'source of funds'. I do not have a credit card I have a check card. But I have had my Paypal longer and really prefer to maintain just one payment method online regardless of who I am doing business with.

My credit card does not work online, and I've never used paypal. It just seems like a hassle.

Yes to paypal (though I admit it does have problems and I'm currently in a dispute *sigh*). It's a great option that is widely used by a large number of people.

No I would not use PayPal.

Nopes I never used PayPal, never will. I don't like putting my personal information on the internet, especially account numbers.

In Germany it is a bit unusual to use a Credit Card.
So I would be glad to pay via PayPal.

I only use my PayPal account in those cases where credit cards are not accepted.
Same for me. It's much more simple to use a credit card. I can never remember my paypal account because I've used it all of twice in past 5 years.

I just use my credit card. Like others, I don't see why Anet would bother with PayPal since they have the ability to process credit card transactions themselves. PayPal is for businesses that lack that capacity.

no i would not use paypal because:

I use paypal for a very limited number of reasons, if I do not trust the person I am buyng from or the website they are selling at to not steal my bank details,
or the company I trust does not allow me to use my debit card.

Since I trust A-net, and they accept Solo in England, I have no reason to use paypal.

If my debit card was not supported then my preference would be for that to change, but if that would require support for a vast number of cards, I expect paypal would be the better option for A-net to take.
